Blast Protection Bins
Lesco have researched, designed and tested a suitable material for the production of an affordable Blast Protection litter bin system. The criteria were to achieve a replica of the existing design with all the benefits an extremely strong container to resist blast, limit fragmentation and penetration. When there is a duty of care to protect the immediate surroundings where public gather this product will afford creditable levels of security from explosive devices.
For high profile areas the surface has been perfected to give a smooth outer surface which can be finished in any colour. To comply with our rigorous standard of fragmentation limitation all metals have been eliminated by the use of high density single filament composite construction. The top trim is in light gauge aluminium and can be anodised or powder coated to any colour. This met all our test requirements and only entered the protected surroundings as low energy fragments from above.
The open top litter bin comes in a 60 litre or 40 litre capacity and is constructed in high density composite with a fire inhibiting compound added! The exterior is machined and finely sanded to produce a superfine finish. A soft plastic removable liner stands in the bin to take a standard eco black bin bag.
The principle of the bin is to direct the blast upward and minimise fragmentation eliminating missiles pro-duced by the container. The bin has been tested to PSDB standards and these results can be discussed confidentially with prospective users.
